From Enraging to Engaging: Together, Putting the Human into HR
In most organisations, the relationship between those in charge of people and culture, and other functions is a bit buggered. And being called Human Resources never helped right?!
Whilst dealing with HR can often be frustrating, it's important that everyone understands their role when it comes to the management and leadership of people and how they should be supported if the organisation is to achieve its targets. If we're to get sh!t done in our organisations, then both parties have a responsibility to keep things simple, build effective relationships and make decisions that staff can understand and get behind.
Initiatives, such as the annual engagement survey, shouldn't be a chance for enragement, but an opportunity to assess the relationships that we have and look for opportunities to make the future better, together.
